 On the Trail in Montana.
Started in 2000 Art Expeditions began to travel the route of Lewis and Clark.  Our team of Art Explorers (Our family) set out to capture and document the different communities and landscapes along the route.

Goals:

  • Discover the communities and environments along the route of Lewis and Clark.
  • Capture images for the paintings and photographs for the exhibits.
  • Explore the destinations for the Lewis & Clark Art Expeditions community projects.
  • Connect our family to history and its significance.
  • Have Fun! 

The following are selections from our adventures in Montana with this project.

Notes:  Our journey began at the mouth of the Missouri River on the Mighty Mississippi.  After the Missouri,  Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota and North Dakota landscapes we were not ready for the expanse of Montana.  The distance and the change that takes place from East to West.  From the flat soft rolling hill to the buttes rising up and the river cutting through at the same time.  To the West the Rockies.
Gordon Haaborg, the owner and cook of "The Hitching Post" in Malta, MT.  He and his wife Kerry own this cafe that treated us so well.
